Your Football Glory Isn’t a Thing of the Past

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: Your Football Glory Isn't a Thing of the Pas — admin @ 8:09 pm

A new national organization is providing a fun way for former football players to stay active and in the game.

American Football Alumni unites former high school, college and professional players and coaches so they can reconnect with old teammates and make new friends. But besides its extensive networking opportunities, the organization offers members information and support on how to use their football disciplines to further themselves personally, professionally and financially.

To date, there’s been an overwhelming response to the organization because of the exciting tools that American Football Alumni offers. For example, members now have an outlet to share their opinions on timely football topics, such as what is right for college players and new sports rules that are being considered.

Members also can participate in exclusive, national college football polls. This brings together the broadest demographic of players and coaches to create what is believed to be not only the most accurate polls, but ones that truly represent the sport from those who know it best.

One of American Football Alumni’s main goals is to recognize players of every skill level. Because society tends to only honor the big-star players, the organization makes sure all players are recognized

High Gas Prices Bring Flood Of Bad Products

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: cheap gas, fuel costs, gas prices, save money on ga — admin @ 4:02 pm

In a world where gas prices are at record heights, there are lying scumbags who will take advantage of your desire to get more miles to the gallon. Lately there have been a flood of products on the market claiming to boost gas mileage, but very few of them actually work.

First, there are fuel additives like the Platinum Gas Save and the BioPerformance pill. Neither works, and the BioPerformance pill has been proven to be nothing but moth balls, which are toxic.

Then there are the Fuel Genie and Tornado, which are mounted in the air flow meter of your car. They are supposed to affect the way air is sucked into the car, but have yet to be proven effective in improving mileage. However, altering the air flow of your car can make it overheat, possibly causing permanent damage.

There is also the Predator and many similar knock-off products. The predator costs a hefty $400 and reprograms your car to ignite the fuel earlier, which makes the fuel burn longer. Though the initial aim is to increase horsepower, customers have reported getting better gas mileage as a happy side effect. And these products DO work like they

Black Cats and Feline Reputations

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:29 pm

Most people in the United States have heard that if a black cat crosses your path, bad luck will follow. Most people who respond to such an event by saying something like “uh-oh” don’t follow up and blame the cat for the fact that a few days later they are, say, fired from their job or trip over the dog and sprain an ankle. But the notion persists, as do many other folk beliefs about cats-as-trouble. Most of these notions arose (in the West) during the late Middle Ages, persisting well into the seventeenth and even the eighteenth centuries. They come down to us today, happily, for the most part filtered by time and reason into paler, less scary versions. In fact, in England it is good luck if a black cat crosses your path. But Europeans in earlier times found plenty of reasons to be truly horrible to cats, especially black ones.

Black cats were not only nocturnal like all cats, skulking around in the dark as if guilty of something, and they were often indifferent to humans, even haughty, but also they had the misfortune of being black. For Europeans in early times, black was-simply-bad. It

Making Life Simple With Wireless Technology

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: cellular, data, hardware, internet, phon, Software, Technology, wireless — admin @ 8:06 pm

Wireless fidelity , or WiFi, is an amazing technology that allows you to network your computers, office, home, etc. without the need for wires. This makes networking so much easier and less messy because wires are not used. The computers simply connect to the network via radio signals.

Because of this easiness, many businesses, schools, malls, restaurants, cafes, stores, airports and other businesses have set up wireless hot spots that allow anyone to log onto the network. This is amazing for individuals that need to be able to work from any location, however there are some disadvantages because hot spots can be used by unauthorized users if not adequately protected through different security safeguards.

Hot spots are relatively new, but are growing in acceptance and popularity because of the incredible access it gives to students, travelers, business people and the like. Some hot spots are free, while others charge an hourly rate.

These days, if you go to an airport or hotel you will see signs that say internet zone or hotspot and will either say free or how to pay. Because of this evolution, individuals are able to work and study wherever they are, which makes traveling

Visiting With The Pediatrician What To Expect

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: babies, Baby, chil, infant, mother, parent — admin @ 10:05 am

In the first year of your babys life, you will be visiting your pediatrician about every other month, for well check ups and immunizations. Heres a rundown of how those visits go, and approximately how often youll need to visit.

Two week visit
Some doctors schedule a visit earlier than two weeks, but most pediatricians begin at the two week mark. Your babys weight, length and head circumference will be measured, and you can expect this at every well baby checkup during this first year. They will also do a general exam and check the babys fontanel. One thing the doctor particularly interested in at this checkup is babys weight gain. Your baby will typically lose some weight right after birth, so at this checkup the doctor will want to ensure that baby is gaining back the lost weight. They will also ask about eating habits, how often the baby is producing wet and dirty diapers, and about how the baby is sleeping.

One month visit
This visit will be largely the same as the previous visit, focusing on babys development, and on yours and babys adjustment at home.

Two month visit
Baby will be checked again,

How Does the Camera Auto Focus Work and Why Sometimes It Fails?

How does auto-focus work?

All of us use it every time we click on the shutter button. Practically all modern cameras include some sort of an auto focus system. Thanks to the auto focus system we can enjoy an easier photography experience and can concentrate on composing the right photo and capturing the moment rather than on manually setting the focus.

Automatic focus though has its limitations. For example sometimes one might want to produce photos which are a bit fuzzy as an artistic expression. Also the auto focus implementation has its limitations and in some scenarios it might fail. One example is using a high end SLR camera with a passive auto focus system to take a picture of blue skies. In most cases the camera will move its motor back and forth and will eventually give up and fail to focus.

To better use the auto focus system it would help to understand high it actually works. Although implementations can vary we can divide them all into two categories: passive and active. Most pocket cameras use the cheaper passive method while high end professional cameras use either the active or a combination of both.

Passive auto focus:

Is Al Michaels Still The Best NFL Play-By-Play Announcer?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: Al Michaels, John Madden, Mike Patric, NBC, NFL Announcers — admin @ 5:04 am

When ABC traded Al Michaels to NBC this off-season to be their number one play-by-play announcer for their new Sunday night NFL football package, it became clear that he is still perceived to be the best play-by-play announcer in the business. However, is that perception still a reality?

Michaels began his career back in 1986 on ABCs Monday Night Football, where he remained until switching to NBC for the 2006 season. While at ABC, Michaels was part of several broadcast teams including the likes of Dan Dierdorf and Frank Gifford, Boomer Esiason, Dennis Miller and Dan Fouts, and most recently John Madden. Despite the frequent changes, Michaels always remained because of his innate ability to convey an array of information to the casual viewer.

With NBCs recent signing of Michaels and John Madden to man their Sunday Night NFL booth, it shows that Michaels is still the most sought after announcer in the business. NBC decided to woo Michaels over Fox and CBS lead play-by-play announcers Joe Buck and Jim Nantz respectively, as well as veterans Dick Enberg and Mike Patrick, and newcomers Kevin Harlan and Gus Johnson..

The amazing thing about Michaels (and probably the reason why

Are Maternity Clothes Necessary in Order to Look Good During Pregnancy?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:20 am

I remember my mother telling me about the times when she was pregnant. She was wearing nothing more than my father’s jeans and his working shirts throughout her pregnancy. No maternity clothes for her because she was too poor to buy them at that time. Remember, in her time, which was about 30 years back, maternity clothes used to cost a bomb.

And yet, if you walk along any shopping center these days, you’ll notice at least three or four maternity clothes fashion houses catering to the specifically ‘large’ needs of a pregnant mother. And since the web and the Internet is such a magnanimous thing these days, what about online maternity stores? I’d safely say there are just about half a million legitimate maternity stores right now flailing around the Internet wires for business.

And the amazing thing is that…YES, they make money! And why, I was wondering.

Because of one simple thing….even though my mother (like your mother) and my grandmother (and your grandmother) didn’t need maternity clothes when they were pregnant, the modern generation of pregnant women really, truly DO need maternity clothes. We’re living in an era that is completely different from their
